I’m trying to connect my laptop running 98se with my desktop running xp home. My goal is to be able to 1) send files from my desktop to the laptop and vice versa and 2) be able to print from my laptop to the printer connected to my computer and use the internet connection on my desktop computer. The only way I can connect the two computers is by using a cable between the parallel ports on both computers. I have to set up a direct cable connection on the laptop with the laptop set to be the host. I then set the desktop up with a direct cable connection as the guest. The two computers WILL connect, however I can not see and of the other computers hard drives nor access its resources (printer, internet). What am i doing wrong?
