I've got a PIII with DR-DOS 7.02 and I'd like to connect it to my WinXP to share resources.
The problem is that with all the overwhelming info/spam/advertisments in a simple search, it's pretty hard finding any useful information.
XP has a bunch of NetWare related protocols installed and the DR-DOS has Personal NetWare and NetWare Client.
Do I have to install TCP/IP on the DOS box or should it be able to connect using the NetWare protocols?
I can't find the DOS box through the XP Network neighbourhood, and the DOS box can't find XP with a workgroup search (both using the same workgroup name).
Also the LEDs on the Ethernet switch indicate that there is some form of communication, so that would be connected ok...TIA

DR-DOS Personal Netware has to be setup as Server, WinXP Netware is the Client see:
http://www.drdos.com/dosdoc/usergen...
Though you can use MS Netwroking Client 3 TCP/IP it eats base memory and is not recommended...........

The commands for NET aren't the same for the two systems, and the Users Guide on Caldera refers to Windows 3.1.
I tried the ones on XP's NET program, but the "connecting" ones gave me "Systemerror 53: Network path not found".

And I presume removing the bindings would be to uncheck them in the connection properties for the network adapter? (XP is Swedish)
And yes, the DOS-box is set as server.
I'll see where it leads me...thx

The above didn't change anything noticable.
If I run: net view /NETWORK:NW
at the XP command prompt to list the available NetWare servers, it just gives me:
"System error 53, Network path not found"
The same goes for logging on to a NetWare network at startup...
(the Client Services for NetWare in XP)I have the same frame type (802.3) for both comps, and I have already tried 802.2 to no avail...

I'm also using a short user name in case it would offend the 8.3 dos names, and I've created a user with the same name and pwd on the NetWare server...
but the problem seems to be related to them not being able to find any other computers on the network. (both are using 10HalfDuplex speed)
