The model f5d7230-4 dosent require a WAP number or any silly thing like that to connect you to the internet for any game console.

This is what you need to do,if your already able to go online thru the router you will go to a PC that is connected to the router with a ethernet cable and open the internet explorer, you will erase everything inside the address bar,you will type the fallowing... thats the ipaddress to your belkin router.

Wen your inside of your router, on the right top corner check that it reads CONNECTED in green letters, on the left hand side of the screen you will find 5 blue tabs, from top to bottom you will click under the firewall tab were it reads DMZ you will click on DMZ,if it ask you for a password leave it blank and click on submmit, you well get a screen with boxes where you will type the fallowing ip address and you will apply changes.

Now you have place a specific (STATIC) ipaddress for you game console, now all you have to do is apply that ipaddress on your PS3 and it will go online via wired.

If your trying to connect wireless you might have a network key then wen trying to connect it will ask you for it,its like a password that you made up wen setting up the router,if you cant remember what it is then again go inside the router with the and click on the left hand side under the wireless blue tab where it reads SECURITY again IF it ask you for a password you will leave it blank and click on submmit,yo will get a screen with the status of your encryption and what type your using, you will retrive key number one, thats your network key,on this router its always better to use 64bit WEP specially since your playing online, dont worry WEP is secure, dont become a security freek plz, unless you work for the CIA you dont have to worry on this end.

P.S. Hopefully this will solve your problem
