I am trying to connect my cisco 2600 router to my ISP and cannot get the Ethernet port 0/0 to get the IP via DHCP. Command ip address dhcp gives me an error it is not supported in my version IOS I guess Here is the IOS version 12.1 (1)T. How can I get the interface configured to access my ISP?. My local Lan runs fine but cannot connect to internet.

I don't have an old 2600 around to check on but if that command isn't supported, it isn't supported and you'll have to find another way. Likely you'll have to use another device. A SOHO router would work, and then you could plug that into your 2600 and statically assign an IP to 0/0 that is in the same subnet as the router's LAN side.

I am the captain of my soul.
