Connecting a bos running MS XP Home Edition to a NAS

Specs: Windows XP Pro, 1.6
Hi, I was wondering if there are any known issue setting up Windows XP Home Edition with a NAS. I have 2 other machines that run their manufacturer versions of Windows XP Home Edition but for some reason even if I install the MS XP upgrade version on them I can not map the folders to it. The other computers had no problem whatsoever when using their manufacturers XP installation disc.

I have a 2014 model of the Lenovo ix2 and their tech support has asked me to take it to a forum because they have no idea what the problem could be. I have tried to compare services.msc and have looked in the Add/Remove Program>Add/Remove Windows Components>Networking Services to find that nothing is different.

Using the LenovoEMC Storage Manager I know that the computer can connect to the NAS and I can view the shared folders but I get the same error pop up when trying to map using the Lenovo utility and when manually trying to map the drive.:

"The mapped network drive could not b created because the following error has occured:
The network location cannot be reached. For more information about network troubleshooting, see windows help"

Any ideas what the problems could be?

What NAS do you have? Is there a domain involved?

The world is full of rats, Republicans & Democrats.
