Connecting 2 XP Computers URGENT

I'm connecting 2 pcs running XP Pro without a hub. My LAN Icon says I am connected and I have made sure both belong to the same workgroup, however, one computer is unable to view the workgoup, it says the user is not authorized to view it. Thus I am unable to share files and the internet connection. HELP!!!

You have to right click select properties and enable sharing [with or without password]on the file, drive,ect you want to browse or use from the other computer.
