We have a central computer running NT4. This has a 3port serial (RS232) card installed, connected to the 3 ports are 3 Ascom am-19200 baseband modems.
We also have 3 computers, distributed around the plant, running win95. Each has an Ascom am-19200 baseband modem connected.
The modems are connected together via telephone cables directly (I.e no exchange)
The probelms:The central computers hdd stopped working so we needed to rebuild it.
We dont have drivers for the modems, but after interrigating the Win95 machines found that they were using generic isdn drivers.
The central computer has Symantec PcAnywhere Remote installed, and the Plant computers have PcAnywhere Host installed. As the modems arent connected to an exchange the lines dont have "telephone" numbers, so as far as i can gather they are used as line drivers.
I can not get the pc's to communicate over the telephone lines using the modems.
Any help would be appriciated.
Thanks in advance
Mike Atkinson
