I would like to know something about connecting two switch hubs on a far distance of about 300 meters. What should be the optimal soultion for this problem. The net goes on 100Mbps. As i know, the distance limit for connecting these two devices is 100 meters. Is it possible to use a optical cable and what else do i need in order to convert the signal.

Thanks in advance

Your limit is 500m end to end. That's a total of 5 100m cable runs with no more than 4 switches or hubs inbetween.

None of these cables are going to outside the building, are they?

If you're connecting from building to building, optical is the way to go because of grounding/safety issues.
