Hi,
I currently use my laptop to connect to a local wireless router, and also in a lot of hotels. Somehow i can connect to any network with good signal, and yet when I open IE, it says "can't display page", and i noticed it cannot detect the proxy setting, and eventually died out trying to find the page address.
But when I used another network, it works just fine. It's very puzzling. Anybody can help? Thanks..

Are you trying to connect to your wireless network or other's? When you say you use another network it works fine. Are you using another wireless card or wired network? Each NIC card can have a completely different set of properties I would look at that and match them up.
There could many reasons why this is not working if you're trying to connect to someone elses network meaning they aren't using a proxy, some wireless cards pick up another wireless card and not the router and you're trying to connect to the card. They could be using some type of security (this could be it's own topic itself). Need more info?

It's for a U's network. Somehow it started to show today that i am being connected, but yet when I open IE, it's dead. It's been working before, and I have no trouble connecting to nearby coffeeshops. I even have the IP, DNS address from the U's network, and I put them in TCPIP, and still nothing... Is it just need a router reset on the other end?? Or is it something on my laptop?
