My wifes laptop suddenly stopped being able to browse the internet this morning. I have tried both IE 8 (Beta) and Firefox. I am able to connect to yahoo messenger, and email via both vista mail and outlook 2007. Also able to ping and site i can think of with an average ping of 85ms. I have tried the winsock reset and also the broadcast flag. Router and modem have been reset with everything disconnected. My desktop is also running Vista with no issues on the same network. I installed zone alarm 2 days ago, worked fine yesterday, have now uninstalled it with no change. Hotfix KB946776 and Defender definition update KB915597 (1.49.1289.0) installed on the 1st but none since. Happened after a clean avast! home and Spybot Search and Destroy instal and scan (both have since been uninstalled). Any help would be greatly appreciated.
