I have tried to connect a vista laptop(64 bit) with an xp(32 bit) desktop.

7 days and counting. This is not my first Rodeo!

What ever happened to the old peer to peer network? You know, you name one FRED and the other ETHEL and Bobs Your Uncle!

Not so today!

I need specific instructions as to how to connect these two computers directly.

Any help would be great. Even if you don't have a total solution.

Thanks,

BoulderJohn

start by using a crossover cable not a patch cable.
run the network wizard on vista and follow the instructions.

See help and support pages in vista for network walkthrough.

"Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, antivirus, anti-spyware, Live CD's, backups, are in my top 10
