I would like to connect my Nexus 7 to my wired network, that presently has two computers, connected to a Linksys (BEFSR41) wired router. (I would like to use the Nexus 7 in wireless mode.) What are my options?

Well, you could buy another router and configure it to not give out IP Addresses (DHCP turned off) and then use an ethernet cable to link that router into the rest of the network. You've been helped by a 15 year old.
If you are going to buy another router why would you need to keep the current one ?
Either buy a cable router that has both wired/wireless capability and work with your ISP to configure it, or keep your existing router and plug a Wireless Access Point (WAP) into one of the available LAN ports.Goin' Fishin' (Some day)
