You can't. You need a phone that is capable of receiving both inputs.

Back before I moved into the high class sophisticated world of 2 line phones I had a box with 2 push buttons on it to switch between the 2 lines. Whichever button was pushed was the line the phone was connected to. I think I got it at radio shack.

So it's either something like that or else a genuine 2-line phone.

There are devices that will accept two input lines. When the phone rings a light flashes to indicate which line the incoming call is on. You press a button the activate that line to the phone and pick up as normal. Likewise you could press one button or the other to set which line took any outgoing calls.

There are min-telephone exchanges that will take up to a dozen incoming lines but that might be a little overkill. A word with your telephone company should give you some pointers.

A two line phone costs about $50. Get 2 and wire the lines to two RJ-12 jacks so both lines can be used at the same time.

The item I was thinking about in # 2 above was a Duofone (radio shack) 'Two-Line Controller with Hold", catalog # 43-239 but they no longer carry it.

I came across this 2-line phone while looking for the controller on ebay:

I assume you have 2 single lines--2 RJ11 lines. The 2-line phone uses an RJ14 line. They're exactly the same in that they both have 4-wires. Of those a single line phone only needs 2 wires. So in an RJ14 two of the wires are for one line and two are for the second line. You'll need an adapter to connect the 2 RJ11's to make an RJ14.
