I have a remote office that I have a working VPN and can connect with no problems. I need to change the remote router settings. When I am connected to the remote VPN and enter the address of the router I get my local modem not the remote router. My local router is 192.168.0.1 and the remote router is 192.168.0.1 as well. how can I connect to my remote router through the VPN connection.

The only way is to connect to a pc at the remote side e.g. via RDP and connect from that pc to the remote router. Then you can change what ever you need.

When you are already connected to the remote network via VPN, you can access another PC via RDP because you're in the same network. You don't have to open a port at the router for that.
The reason, why you can't access the remote router is, that your local router has the same ip address as the remote router. So your PC searches this ip address locally not remotely. So if you configure your local router, to use 192.168.0.2 (if possible and free), you should also be able to connect to the remote router via VPN.

I configured my home modem to be 192.168.10.1 The LAN dhcp is 192.168.10.x
After I did this when I am connected to the VPN their are no conflicts because everything is 192.168.0.x
I did this by logging into my modem and choosing Advanced setup then selecting LAN IP ADDRESS.
Now when I am connected to the VPN I can access and ping all devices according to their LAN address.
