I have a problem that I need you help to solve. I have 2 netgear routers (1 wired only 1 wired and wireless) and a switch. The way it's configured is out put of my DSL modem is going into the 1st wired only netgear router. One of the port from the router is going a switch (D-link). one of the port from the switch is going to 2nd router (wireless and wired).

DSL modem==>(internet working)==>Netgear wired router==>(internet working)==>Dlink switch==>(internet working)==>Netgear wireless router (internet NOT working)

The wire coming from the D-link switch can connect to internet if I directly connect it to a computer, but if I connect the wire coming from the D-link switch to a router and than to my computer the internet does not work.

I configured the wireless router, and able to log on to the wireless router, but not to the internet.

Any idea on what I need to do to get the internet working through the router?

erm, if you can access your wireless access point via web browser, no wonder you cant connect to internet

to connect to access point, you have to manual assign subnet mask and IP, Thus meaning you are not connected to internet. Once configured, you should set it back to automatically obtain IP, which of course will be via your routers DHCP

well, at least thats how many access point works

control panel, network connections, right click yr adapter, TCP/IP properties, tick obtain IP auto

Jamie,

Thank you for your quick response.. but I am able to log on the router without touching the DHCP.

My computer is set to obtain IP auto.

I think it has something to with the switch..
