You'll likely need to setup and use Terminal Services for the thin clients to connect to.

You had 20 TC working and you formatted/reinstalled server!

What was your thinking here? Did you document licensing and the configuration? Any backups you can restore?

Wow, if I did that I would be fired unless you had the terminal service running on another server and all I did was take down the Active Directory server but even that will really screw things up too.

How many servers did you have and what where the roles they had, or do you have a really good system state and file backup, because if this was the only server then you wiped out all of the thin client information?

Wow I use this server and clients for class teachings, i used to run it on solaris 10 and as such windows server developed problems to log in. and as such i opted to reconfigure a new system without solaris, the hell broke loose here. Perhaps i shouldn't have removed solaries (my server is from sun microsystems)

Hmmm... You did not provide this information so all we had to go on was that you formatted a thin client server. Is this an actual SPARC station that you are using with Motorola CPUs?

And you are trying to load Server 2003 with Terminal services on it in place of Unix Solaris?

I am not sure this will work because the thin clients may have ROM drives which have a client that will only talk to Solaris. See if you can change the OS on the thin clients to support a Microsoft OS or at least able to load a Linux Client for Windows Terminal Server.

ace he HAD a working 2003 TS server!

It is just a matter of loading TS server then calling microsoft and reinstalling/activating the TS cals.

Dr Steve you still have the TS cals paper licenses don't you? If not MS can help you with that also.

After that the existing TS clients should connect no problem.
