connect pbx to pc

Specs: Windows 8 64 bit, 4GB

I want to record the all the phone calls to my office through the existing PBX system to a pc. Should I connect the RJ11 line to the 3.5 mm mic in port or should I connect the RJ 11 output from the PBX to the voice modem of the computer? Secondly which is the best software for telephone recording? Thanks

You should contact the manufacturers of your PBX for detailed information on how to do this. Not only will they be able to tell you if it can be done, they'll also be able to give you detailed instructions on how to do it, including any/all parts required.

From what I can see, you don't even know if your equipment is capable of doing this at all.

That's where you need to start anyhow contact the manufacturer or supplier you bought it from.

Being able to record phone calls is a feature of the pbx's voicemail system.

You don't mention having a voicemail system. Pbx alone doesn't have this feature.

You would not be connecting to a voice modem to do recording.

You also need to determine if your state is a two party or single party record state. If two party you must notify via message that the call maybe recorded or you commit a felony.
