Hello there!
I'm new to Debian
I want to connect my machine to the internet

I have sterlite modem MT882

please help me with the configuing of my machine

There are a few ways. One is the dhclient (interface) command or the equivalent debian command. I use FreeBSD so it's probably different.


Another is through the ifconfig command which will give it a static IP address.
man ifconfig for details.

If you have xserver set up, it can be done through KDE or Gnome.
