Hello

I just got my internet connection and I want to connect 3 PC to the net. here is the config :

provider side :
PPPoE server <-> WiFi (Canopy) <-> Switch <-> Plug

my side :
Plug <-> broadband Router <-> computers

The broadband Router is a Allied Telesis CG-WLBARGMO. All my cable are straight one, an even if there seems to be activity on the WAN port of the router, It can t connect to the PPPoE server. But if I connect the cable directly from the plug to one computer, the PPPoE connect with no problem.

I also tried to put a D-Ling G710 repeater directly on the plug and connect via WiFi one computer at a time, but then the PC doensn t find the PPPoE server, nor any of the other computer connected on the switch (witch I see with a direct connection). I think it s just an IP problem, but I can t get out of this solution either

thanks for the help.

Is there someone out there with an answer for me ?

a standard setup
ethernet cable from the modem to the wan port on the router. then, other pc's can be cabled to the other ports on the router.
the dns of the router, should be
192.168.1.1
the modem dns is usually,
192.168.0.1
the computers connecting wireless, you setup ssid on them and the ssid in the router.
www.practicallynetworked.com is a visual aid if you need it

Can you confirm the cable I have to use to connect the broadband router to the switch is a traight or a crossed one. I can t get directly to the modem since it is locked in a tech room

Thanks

Edit : the connection work with both straight and crossed cables, if I put the broadband router in "Cable modem" mode I get an IP but no actual connection, and if I put it in PPPoE mode, I get nothing.

Is there someone out there with an answer for me ?
