connect 2 sonicwalls

Sonicwall / Tz-210
December 31, 2009 at 10:00:03
Specs: Windows XP
I have a sonicwall tz-170 (standard o/s) and a new tz-210 (enchanced o/s). My office network is on the tz-170.

We have multiple public ip's available through our ISP.

How can I connect the 2 sonicwalls so that someone coming through a site-to-site vpn on the tz-210 can access everything on the office network connected to the tz-170?? Can I connect a cable LAN-to-LAN from the firewalls or do I need to use 2 NIC cards,etc...

Thanks for help!

What do you see as a gain with two serially attached sonicwall? You should just replace the 170 with the 210.

That's my plan.

Until I can sit down with a clients IT person to figure out why their site-to-site VPN does not want to work on the TZ-210 I was hoping I can connect both Sonicwalls. I am continuing to use the 170 for now...

I used Sonicwall's conversion program to import the settings from the TZ-170 to the TZ-210.

The client has confirmed the settings I have in the 210 as being correct and they are exact as the 170. I wrote out on paper also to check the settings myself many times.
