Hi All

I have a basic knoweledge of home networking and internet sharing and have never had trouble setting up my own systems before, but this has me baffled...

All i want to do is connect 2 old PII's for my kids to battle each other on a few old games, AOE, Warcraft, etc.

Both machines are running stock standard win98se with no add ons or updates and no internet connection, when i click network neighborhood icon, i get the entire network icon, then the workgroup name and inside all i see is the acyual box im browsing from, this happens at both ends, I have tested with a number of cables from my existing network and device manager says the cards and drivers are ok.

This was going to be easy 2 days ago, lol.

ps. please forgive my newbie lingo :)

You know, you should try starting one of the games in host mode, then using the IP address of that PC, connect with the other one in whichever game the kids want to play. It may very well be that the network is working even if the PC's aren't seeing each other in network neighbourhood.
