Hi

After reading more information about Bridge, Repeater, and Access Point (AP), I am even more confusing about their functions. How are they different? Can we connect two "wireless networks" together without using the wire? Thank you very much

Wireless bridge can be used to connect wired network to wireless network.

Wireless repeater can be used to expand the wireless range of existing wireless network.

Also you can usually use wireless access point to create a wireless network.

Yes..you can connect 2 different wireless networks together by using 2 wireless routers.

Hope helps..

Thank you very much picohat for your explanation. I just want to see if I understand them clearly. The Access Point (AP) can connect a wireless device to a wired nextwork, right? The AP can also extends the range of the wireless signal, right? If that is the case, then the AP has both the functions of "bridge" and "repeater". So are the bridge and repeater are invented before AP?

How do we configure the two existing wireless networks so that they can connect into one?

You are correct.. Before having wireless network technology, the bridge and repeater were invented and used on wired Ethernet already.

Are that two existing wireless networks on same subnet? or different?

Assume that the two wireless networks are in the same subnet mask. If it is not in the same subnet mask, can I still join two networks together? Oh, the repeater is also used in the wired network to boot up the signal when the network cable runs longer than 300 feet, right? What about the wired bridge? How is it used in the wired network? I really appreciate for your help.
