Someone just asked that in the last day or two. Look through the recent entries because someone replied with exactly how to crimp the crossover cable.

the pin out for a cross connect is as follows
1-green/white
2-green
3-orange/white
4-blue
5-blue/white
6-orange
7-brown
8-brown/white

now you cross pins 1,3 and 2,6:

1-orange/white
2-orange
3-green/white
4-blue
5-blue/white
6-green
7-brown
8-brown/white

You only need two pair for a crossconnect (pins 1,2,3,6) it doesnt really matter how you terminate the other pins.

Hi wirelessguru,

I am connecting 2 PC using cross cable. Both PCs runing Window 2000 and there is only 1 IP address to LAN. I have installed 2 Network cards in one PC (#1) and one network card in the other one (#2). In the PC1 I configured one network card with original IP to LAN, and other network card with IP:192.168.0.1; In the PC2 I configured Network card with IP:192.168.0.2
Both connections are seen in the desktops of both PC but I still can't access to internet from PC2.I have been trying many times but I could not success.

If you do know how to solve this, please help!

Thanks a lot

Regards,
/Misa
