computersd under Network disappear

April 7, 2010 at 15:41:25
Specs: Windows 7
Running a server and 3 computers. 2003 Server, and windows 7 on the workstations.

Server is running active directory.

I can log on to the server fine. I can also view my mapped drives.

However, if I go to network from a workstation, I don`t see the server or the other boxes.

Sometimes they will be there, but if I reboot, they disappear.

Thanks in advance for any input!

netbios over tcp/ip enabled?
we are finding windows 7 does not run logon scripts or group polices under 2003 correctly which maybe your issue.
solution appears to be 2008 server.

I typed \\servername in the top of the explorer page and it got the server icon to show under network, but it only lasts until i reboot.

Also, the other stuff that you usually see under My network places , like Entire network and Microsoft windows network are not visable either. (dont know if that normal for windows 7 but thought id included the info)
