Computers on my home network are not linked

August 18, 2011 at 07:48:21
Specs: Windows XP
I have a Netgear Router connected by DSL to the Internet (through Roadrunner). I have a AT & T Microcell Tower and 2 computers connected to the Router: a desktop running Windows XP Home Edition wired to the Router and a laptop running Windows 7 connected to the router wirelessly. Both computers connect to the Internet without any problem. However, they do not communicate with each other. The laptop indicates a home network with all 3 devices, but cannot communicate with the desktop. The desktop does not show any network at all. It only indicates a connection through the Router. How do I go about connecting the computers so that they can share files, etc.?
