Hi, I have connected a windows 98 computer to our workplace network (windows nt server). The computer has access to everything on the network, however if you go to network neighbourhood from any other computer (or the computer in question for that matter), it does not appear in the list. I'm also having a problem when adding network printers to this computer as not all printers are showing in the list when you go through the 'add printer' wizard. I beleive the problems are related. Does anyone have any ideas, particularly on my first problem?

Resolutions: this is likely Computer Browser issue. 1. If there is a multi-homed or RAS machine on your network becoming the browse master for the wrong subnet, disable the Computer Browser service on the computer. 2. Check any errors in Event Viewer, especially Browser error. If you have peer to peer workgroup network, you may want to disable Computer Browser services on w2k/xp. 3. If you can't disable the Computer Browser service because the compute is the PDC, you can unbind NetBIOS from one interface in network advanced settings. 4. W2K/XP may not show on the My Network Places if it doesn't use Windows Logon Passwords or has blank password. I dont think this is the problem. I can see all computers on the network except this one. There are about 20-25 computers. I cant map a shared folder because i cant see the computer, even by typing \\computer-name in the address bar of windows explorer. Listing networked computers in 'my network places' is almost instant.
