computer shuts down

computer shutting down when converting dvd files, this only started at the weekend, wondering if anyone can help

Does the computer shuts down in a normal way or does it suddenly switch of completely?

If it suddenly switching of completely, I guess it's because of overheating of the CPU.
In that case, you might have to clean the heat sink.
