Computer freezes while on network

When connected to my network my computer freezes constantly, while downloading on the internet, taking files from the other computer, and so on. I happens every 5 mins. wondering if this sounds fimiliar to anyone, and if anyone has any ideas for me. Thanks
Steve, We need to know what you got. Your network could contain 100 computers. A lock up problem could be be from anything right now. Please tell us more about your set up...-Sam
Steve, I had the same problem of freezing after 5 min or so. I fixed it by replace the NIC card in the desktop. I'm wandering what you did to fix yours
