Hi, I'm just an average web surfer, and novice computer programmer. That is enough with my introduction and going straight to the problem; just like what subject is saying, I cannot load certain sites anymore. For example, I would try to search something on Google then only spinning circle will go around (for IE) or bar stopping at certain point for infinite amount of time. Not all sites are like this but about 50% of the sites I try to go to happens to at like this.
I have option of doing format and just get it over with. However, I am a geek and I'd like to know what this problem is...
I do not think it is DNS error not any spyware interruption with my web surf routes or anything like that. This occurence happenned arbitrarilly without notice so... if anyone has any idea whatsoever, any comment would be very much appreciated.

You don't format and reload the system because you can't get to a couple of web sites.

You start by saying its not dns or spyware.
Why are you guessing? The point of troubleshooting is to prove they are not the culprits.

Update and run your antispyware software
Update and run your antivirus software
Do a ipconfig to get your listed dns server. Ping it - does it respond?

Go online and run one of the broadband tests. Do your up/down speeds look correct?

Are you running a software firewall? Look to see if you are blocking web sites.

Find your Hosts file [hosts.old] and rename it so you know its not limiting web sites. Reboot for the effects to take place.

Then report back exactly what sites you are having issues with. Report how you connect to the internet.

Imagine the power of knowing how to internet search

With no notice? Are you sure you didn't install any recent updates? A couple released from MS this week have been disabling network connections. I'd start with Control Panel, and uninstall the most recently installed updates.

I was writing a comment about 30minutes ago..
a long one but... battery was out and I had to write this again.

Anyways, host file seemed okay... it only had the IP address needed which was something like 128.0.0.1

Speed was decreased about 20% (from 20Mbps to 4Mbps) both Down and Up

I tried the dns commands again but that didn't help.

There was a incident about a month ago where my friend used my computer and downloaded something that made pop-ups pop up constantly. It was an Adult Friend Finder pop-up. I fixed that problem but I'm wondering if that has to do anything with my problem right now.

I do not think its the windows update error although it is not a genuine. My friend gave me the OEM cd and it works fine but it was like this before I had a update which is about four days ago so it is not the trouble.

I did not know that my apologies, but still I cannot do anything about this and I'm thinking I may have to give up...

Anyways, sites are:
naver.com (Korean website)
amazon.com
gmail.com (I can go to google thought)
search results from google

Also, sometimes when I click Java applications in website, they lead to 'Cannot Display Page'

I get the feeling that it was useless for me to log in here...

No offense... but well... there is always format
