Reply: (edit)Put in a tv tuner card. I watch tv and cruise the interent at the same time. Cable connects to the tv card. Give a person a fish, they eat for a day. Suggest they internet search and they learn a skill for a lifetime.

Reply: (edit)Thank you for your prompt response. Without buying a TV card, how can I operate the TV and the computer independantly? I want to watch the TV in the room while I am working (once in a while of course). Our room has only one cable connection - like an electrical outlet which is connected to the VCR always and I disconnect and put it on the router to use my computer. Any easy solution is apprecaited. Thank you.

Reply: (edit)get a coax splitter. just make sure its the type for cable modems. your cable company should have already done this for you.
