One is at 40MB the other 40GB which is the better option?

Well seeing as 40GB is a whole lot bigger than 40 MBs that would seem to be the better option.

But there are other things to consider besides these figures relate which I assume are your monthly download allowance. It might relate to storage space, you dont say. A figure with nothing to say what it relates to is meaningless.

What is more important is the bandwidth being offered and at what price.

40 GB.........somehow I doubt that.

I think somebody is either shining you on (like perhaps a con artist or someone playing a practical joke on you) or you misread something.

40 GB is more than most of the major fibre optic backbones in the world run at.
