Hello everybody
i am trying to connect my laptop (win98 pII233mmx 32mb) with my pc (win98 athlon1150 512mb).
The laptop has a com, parallel and usb port.
if i connect the two computers, do they both have to do on either parallel or serial connection? can i mix it?
Is there a way to connect them trough usb?
is there a way to connect them trough modems to each other?
thank you for your help

of what i know, you can connect through both USB and i think COM, but you will need additional equipment. for the USB you can buy a couple of USB NICs and for the COM ports, buy a couple of these things (i dont know what they're exactly called) that connect to the COM port and have an RJ45 female end, so yuo can connect like a router to a computer (i dont know if it works with 2 computers). I'd go with the USB NICs.

Weel, have fun

You can use either:

Null modem serial cable
or
LapLink parallel cable
or
USB (2 types file transfer and networking)

The cables are aound € 10 - 15, but have to use same port on each....

Just look at the following, most of what you need is built in to Windows:
