|First using your current PC connected to the modem, run ipconfig /all in commandprompt and write down the IP and DNS settings as you may need to manually load them in the router.|
Next power down the modem and remove the battery for 1/2 minute. Connect with crossover cable from modem to router WAN port. Connect with patch cable from router LAN port to PC.
Turn on modem. Wait 1/2 minute. Turn on router. Wait 1/2 minute. Turn on PC.
If the router auto-configures from the modem then you should be able to get internet. If it does not then you need to log into the router admin interface to configure the WAN settings. If the router has wireless capability you need to be logged into the admin interface anyway to set that up but wired clients should get internet straight away as long as they are set to obtain IP etc automatically
