Hi! everybody.
I am having a problem with the network.
One of the hubs is showing a collition problem i have that plugged to the router that goes to the internet. when i copy files or process something this is very slow. Please helpme

Take a look at post 6611 & 6839 in this forum for some idea of network speed and some of the limiting factors.

As to the collision light - I get that all the time when transfering files between two PCs, but only on my cheap 10Mb hub. When I fire up the 100Mb hub I see less collisions. What you're seeing should be packet ACKs causing the collisions. This shouldn't noticably slow the data transfer.

The only way to really tell though is to use a network monitor and see if you're getting retransmit requests. These will slow the transfer down. If that's the case, its a NIC, cable or hub problem.

Even being connected to the internet, your transfers should run about 25-30% of the bandwidth. Pop the RJ45 out of the router/hub and do some testing. I bet you won't see a difference (if you were NATing the router).
