Subject: Closed FTP? Is it possible?OS: XP ProCPU/Ram: P4Model/Manufacturer: Alienware |
Comment: I have a network camera that can FTP images to a specified directory. How do I set up a computer to allow files to be FTP'd to it, but only to allow it from my closed network and not to anyone on the outside? Thanks

Reply: (edit)I like Filezilla portable. No need to install. The issue of ftp so that you only can access it is another matter. Normally you have to authenticate and authorize by some means. Computers can be access in a number of ways, many not known to users only to hackers. Firewalls and routers help prevent that. It also prevents users from getting to their systems. Might look at an older version of barracudadrive on softpedia. It provide https access to your files that you set up. "Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, are in my top 10
