Dear all,

i have a requirement of pulling Cisco router/switch startup config to a tftp server, most of my IOS are below version 12.2 so I cannot try the kron job.so I will need a tool that can log in to the device from the tftp server(pc) and download the config.is there any way to do this from the tftp server side, please help.

Thanks to you all

What OS is the tftp server running? Why would the IOS version stop the OS from running a cron job? No matter what protocol/tool you use, it still has to be run as a cron job if you aren't going to do it manually.

copy system:running-config tftp:[[[//location]/directory]/filename]

When you telnet into device and at correct level and user. Use that command. The TFTP server at the PC has to be setup too.

"Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, antivirus, anti-spyware, Live CD's, backups, are in my top 10

If you can manually do it from the TFTP server, add it to scheduled tasks, which is basically a windows cron job.
