Comment: is there a command/software/shareware to look at a switch and see what PCs are connected to what port. have cisco 2924s & 2950s and they are managed. thanks.

Reply: (edit) You connect your laptop to the console port for configs and management unless you have it set to accept a telnet connection. No shareware works with Cisco -- you'll have to buy very pricy Cisco management software. A good network diagram and properly labeled drops would be in order.

Reply: (edit)just go inside the router enable mode and do this: router#ip http server [enter] then goto you web browser and type in http://10.1.1.1 the IP address of your ethernet 0 interface and you will get a very nice GUI layout of your switch.
