ok im trying to learn what i need for my CCNA so that i can be able to fix the very type of problem i now actaully have created a friend and I have some cisco 2500 series routers setup at his house on his network we can plug in to the console port and set them up that way and we can telnet into them from his home network I can ping his home network from mine and I can access it no problem and he can do the same for me the problem however is that something is keeping the routers from being able to see outside his network no matter what we try i cannot telnet into them we have them setup to allow telnet sessions but I just cannot connect but I can access his network there is a mail server on it that i can get to if i had a username and pass i could even login to it and i can ping address es on his network why cant I telnet into the router?

no the vty lines are setup correctly the router can be acccessed locally over telnet easily but it just cant seem to talk through the gateway for anything other than ICMP could it have something to do with access lists? or maybe something with the default route? the whole point of getting our CCNA was to be able to solve problems lik this haha
