At work I deal with a lot of different customers who user Cisco 1600 series router which ahve been installed by another company. The privalidged password have been set which meens I am unable to change the comnfiguration of the router using cisco config maker. I've seen a way to crack it on cisco website but this doesn't seem to work (Or im doing it wrong).
Anybody know of any programs I can use to "crack" the password or find it out?
Note: im connecting to the router over a serial cable into the console connection (not over ip).

you mean you're connecting to the router using a rollover cable into the console port, right?
what you want to do is change the configuration register (kind of like the boot order in a PC's bios) and set it so that boots the the mini-IOS. from there you can reset the password. just be sure the change he config register back so it boots normally using the startup-config.
Sorry, don't know what the register codes are, but do a lookup on cisco.com.
