Hi All
I was wondering if anybody knew how to restore the default settings on a PIX 501 firewall? i have already entered the default settings from one of the supplied manuals but still no net access, just blocks everything.

I usually work with the 506s and above. Hopefully the same premise should work with the 501 (famous last words).
You could do a simple write erase. That will blow away the current config in flash memory. You can do a write terminal to verify.
Now you do know that by default all interfaces are disabled? You have to enable them before they will work. Reading how you say everything is being blocked I have the sneaky suspicion you may not have enabled the interfaces or an interface. But it's just a guess.
