Anyone know the command to force an ntp update on a Catalyst 6509? I have it pointed to the NTP server but it's not synced. Thanks

As far as I know, there's no specific command to force an update. But, I certainly don't know everything so don't take that as gospel.

We just configure ours to point at our time server and that's that. If there is a command, I imagine you'll find it in the IOS.

What's making you think it's not updating?

I set the ntp server, but when i do show ntp association it doesn't have a reference clock like our other 6509 does and when i do a show ntp status it says not synchronized. I don't know if maybe the ntp service failed or what. Thanks for the response.

You could just sync it off the other 6509 , it doesn't have to go all the way to the ntp server , just add " ntp server <working 6509 address> " .
