I am trying to enable port scaning on a cisco 3560. When I do it shuts the interface down. I am running an IDS on the destination port and need to access it remotely.

There might try no shut before you do a copy run start. Seems that model does that in other companies.

no shut does not fix the problem. I tried using the following setup:

monitor session 1 source vlan 1
monitor session 1 destation int fa 0/23 ingress vlan 1

Oh, I re-read that. Is storm settings causing that? Check port storm.
