Comment:

I just bought a used cisco 1700 router and it didn't come with a manual (obviously). The guy who I bought it from only gave me the main router address. But when I put that in a window pops up asking for a login and password. Does anybody know the default password for the cisco 1700 series router? Please Help!

There is no password in a fresh out of the box Cisco router and simply hitting the "Enter" key will be enough. If you get in use the "show running" command to see the current configuration. You will want to change your "password" and "enable password" right after completing your initial configuration. But if the person who had it before you changed the password then you will need to of course get it from that person or reload the OS and put a new OS and password on there.

I believe there is a clear button on those routers. this will set the router back to defaults.

You should be able to download all the docs for this model from cisco's web site.
