New here...help a computer UNknowledgeable person!! We are considering changing from our dial-up to DSL; lots of questions. My computer has an ethernet slot at the back, does this mean it already has the ethercard (NIC) installed on the motherboard, or do I need to add it? Also, about my AVG virus protection; I've had it for years, just installed 7.0 (had to reinstall, works great now), but will it work with the DSL? Do I need to uninstall it and then reinstall? Any and all help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Go to My Computer and right click on it and select 'Properties' then 'Hardware' followed by 'Device Manager'. Look for 'Network Adapters' click on it and see if there is anything listed. If installed it will say what it is. AVG 7 will work fine with DSL which is what I use it with.
