i hv a simple question...i new in networking field...so i want know how can we change the default gateway at our pc?

there is no such thing as a default gateway in Windows. Windows will only recognise one gateway. If there are two, the other will be ignored.

If you want to use this unused gateway the only way to do so is to disable the one that is being used.

Goto the Start / Control Panel / Network Connections.
Rightclick your Local Area Connection and choose Properties.
Then choose the properties of the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP).
Here you have to set your local ip address, subnet mask, default gateway and the primary dns server manually.

To first get the current settings, open a command prompt (CMD) and type in:
ipconfig /all
