change Login name on DSL router

Bellsouth called me and told me that I needed to chenge my login name adding the bellsouth.net at the end of it. I have a Westell DSl modem and a Netgear DSL router. I cnnot find the properties to change my login ame. Bellsouth said I would have to change it in the router properties but I don't know how to do that. Any help is appreciated.

logon to your router. Look at the Setup tab and Basic settings. One of the first questions asked is does your internet connection require a login? This is where you add the additional information.

from your web browser, type the IP address of your router. try using 192.168.1.1
check your router documentation for the default login name and password. linksys routers default to admin/admin. not sure about netgear.

Umm that should be 192.168.0.1
You can get the correct address by going to a command prompt and typing in ipconfig. It is the gateway entry. Write that down and type it into IE.
You will need to know the login account [usually Admin] and the password.
Doesn't sound like you set this up? Might want to get the person who did to help you.
