I can browse into my old PC from a different pc in our network. Having said that, I want to change my admin password remotely. Why? A cowrker said my domain account had become corrupted and disjoined me from the domain. Once that was done he couldnt log on locally because only I had the password. When I tried my password it wouldnt work. Either I forgot my password or somehow it was changed. Is it possible to go in so I dont have to reghost to a new HD?

I would get the system administrator to help you. It is my opinion that your co-worker is incorrect.

I read it wrong and answer it wrong too. So get off my case you peanut.

How would your coworker know that your Domain profile had become corrupt unless he/she was logging in with your Domain account? How are you accessing the computer and logging in if you've forgotten your password. Doesn't make any sense.

If your account (whatever account your using) has Admin privileges, one can use Computer Management to change the password of any machine account on your network.

However, Jefro is completely correct. Contact your Domain Admin and have him/her fix the problem. If it's a work computer, it's not your place or your responsibility.

My coworker is the sysadmin and noticed on monday that my domain account was corrupted. He created a new domain account and disjoined me from the domain. He then went to my pc and needed to log on locally so he could join me to the domain again. But long time ago I went to the local admin on users and deleted all accounts but 1 admin account which I also changed the password on so unless I log on locally I unfortunetly made so nobody could log on. When I did come to work I tried to log on remotely so I could join the domain but cant remember the password. When the coworker tries to browse in from his pc he can see it but when he gets to the admin part its X'd out and can not access the admin part so as to set a new local admin password. Long story short I am locked out of my pc and only through browsing in remotely can I get that changed. We are trying to do this UNDER the radar becazuse me changing the admin account to just me was not the best move on my part. For obvious reasons.

There's no reason why your co-worker (Sys admin?) needed to remove your computer from the Domain just because your Domain Account became corrupted. Did he say how he knew the account was corrupt?

A Sys Admin should have enough knowledge to fix the password problem. Defer to the Domain Administrator if your co-worker can't fix it.

i think this man is asking this:

can the admin password be reset if you don't know the old one, or not... and the answer is NO NO NO, how can you do that, IT's PURE HACKING :)... you can do it if u are a hacker and you now how to exploit certain areas on an given OS, to gain control over it without permit to do it:) the permit would be the current password for any admin account...
