Solved cat 5 data and phone

Hello, I have a DSL wireless router in my house, I would also like to have wireless in my workshop. It's over 130 feet to the shop so my house router won't reach. when I built my shop I put an extra pipe in to pull phone line in but now I'm wondering if i can just pull in a cat 5 and get both data & phone.
Thanx in advance

If you're phone line is one twisted pair, it will work with a cat 5 cable. Your bandwidth limit is 100 Mb. If you pull out the wrong pair for telephone, it will not work properly.
It would be better if you pulled one cat 3 for telephone and one cat 5e or 6 for data.

✔ Best Answer
what modify.hardware is alluding to is you can run telephone and data over the same cat5 network cable.

It's tricky but can work. Its not recommended. Since you ran a conduit you are in excellent shape to run two cat5 runs, one for data and one for phone [unless you already have a cat3 then don't bother unless you want to run multiple phone lines]
