Cant Upload/Download larger files

July 21, 2009 at 15:48:12
Specs: Windows XP, AMD64 Turion MT-38 /
XP sp2
I cannot download large files (over 15mb). Not in Firefox or IE. I also cannot upload anything more then a small mp3 file via FTP to my server.

This problem happens on my laptop and my desktop (both have the same os).
The issue happens on wireless or wired connection at home.
Ive tried safemode+networking+wired and the issue happens.

AV and firewall disabled, the problem still happens.

I get a "c:blahbklah_filename.mp3 could not be saved, because the source file could not be read." error from firefox whenever the error occurs.

Ive tested to see if this was caused by my router, so i connected to a different wireless network, and the same problem existed.

How much free space do you have?
When was the last time you ran disk cleanup and defrag?
Fat32 or ntfs file system?
Have you run chkdsk /r and answered yes to the question then rebooted so it would run?

Ive 125Gb of diskspace free on a NTFS filesystem. Defrag weekly with ultimatedefrag.

Desktop: 137Gb free w/NTFS. Defrag once a week w/ultimatedefrag.

I can send the emails, but they come out corrupted. I use ccleaner weekly to remove old/dead files.
