Can't stop modem from dialing

I recently change my server to Bellsouth but nothing more than the new address, dial up number and password. Now my modem keeps dialing at random. It doesn't connect just dials up about every 5 minutes. This is very annoying since I use the same line for my phone service. So far I've tried the following: 1. check all dailing & connection settings 2. ran Ad-ware several times 3. ran Spyblok several times 4. ran Norton Virus scans 5. ran McAfee spam blocker and cleaner 6. ran disk clean up and defrag 7. got fix from Bellsouth (no help)

Hi,
To stop modem from automatically dialing out:
1. Open browser (I'm using Internet Explorer 6) 2. Click on "Tools" 3. Select "Internet Options" 4. Next select "Connections" 5. Select "Never Dial a Connection" 6. Click apply
Now you will need to click on the dial-up icon your your desktop to connect to the internet. Hope this helps :-)
